Are You Human? Investigating the Perceptions and Evaluations of Virtual Versus Human Instagram Influencers

This is the file repository used for our study originally titled "Are you human?
Description
Detecting the difference in trust evaluations between virtual and human influencers," REB 2022-6058 at Dalhousie University, done through the NeuroCognitive Imaging Lab. This study was later nicknamed "Instagram" for short, based on the primary information technology of interest.
We are currently preparing an article to disseminate the results of this study in a way that is accessible to anyone in the world. In this folder you will find our original and processed files collected throughout the experiment. The repository consists of 22 electroencephalography (EEG) and behavioural recordings prepared while participants attended various images of Instagram influencers.

The EEG recordings were used to compare event-related potentials, which ultimately revealed patterns that may reflect perturbing and emotional reactions to the images. It also contains 150 responses to a behavioural study based on a similar paradigm labelled "Study 1" provided in CSV format.
