Traffic Analysis Zones (TAZ) - Oahu

TAZ boundaries are also defined by major transportation facilities (such as roadways), major environmental features (such as rivers), and with underlying land uses. The relative size of the TAZ was also a factor in determining new TAZ boundaries if the zone size was large and the zone was thought to have a significant amount of socioeconomic activity. Generally, TAZs in urban areas are smaller than those in suburban and rural areas.
