The agency used this data to monitor the nutritional status of women during pregnancy.

Description

This health risk assessment is used to conduct a wide range of analyses. This series contains data collected and submitted by state and local health clinics to the agency.

It contains data from pregnant women who participated in the Special Supplemental Food Program for Women, Infants and Children (WIC). This health and social survey includes information about socio-demographics such as ethnicity, mat ernal age, marital status, education, and socioeconomic status; on prenatal risk factors such as insufficient quality, quantity and timing of maternal health care services, inadequate weight gain, iron deficiency, smoking and alcohol consumption; and on childbirth outcome factors such as the child's health, birthweight, and vital status.
