Social change and development institutions in a refugee population: development from below as an alternative - the case of the Nakapiripirit Settlement Scheme in Uganda

This report looks at the use of rural institutions, including co-operatives, as a means of adapting the social structures of refugee communities to new conditions of existence.
Description
Based on a six-week stay in Nakapiripirit settlement in Uganda, the case study shows that there are no really developed rural institutions but there are some traditional working groups among neighbours.
