Replication Data for: Fig 16.5, UPDs, Cumulative duration per female for all mating calls, 23 May 2026

All data here are for estrous UPD females that elicited >=1 MC i.e., estrous females that elicited 0 MCs are not shown here Data from the SAME female in DIFFERENT years are considered independent. I have no data here from eartags--so I therefore cannot examine data from the same female in different years. Cumulative duration per female for all MCs (mins) = summation of all times for all MCs per estrous female Case number and UPD Dognumber sometimes do not match because I sometines needed to add another UPD--so I used a UPD Dognumber that was not an integer.

Examples include 188.5 and 227.5. Also, because of meaningless clerical errors I did not use the following UPD Dognumbers: 35, 36, 37, 38 These omissions did NOT affect any statistical analyses. All durations and times are in MINUTES.

Mean MC Time = mean duration PER FEMALE of all MCs for that female, with one data point per female. These numbers differ from the numbers in Fig 16.4, which include all MCS from all females--often with several data points from the same female. These data used for Fig 16.5 in Hoogland 2026.

This file ready for longterm storage on 22 March 2025. I considered data from the same prairie dog in different years to be independent. Two mating calls were not considered separate unless they were separated by >=30 seconds.

UPD Dognumber = numerical identification for each female, assigned by JLH. UPD Dognumbers are UNRELATED to eartag and Nyanzol markers. This file has no information for either eartags or Nyanzol markers.

Each female could have SEVERAL lengths of each MC if she elicited several MCs--but she could have only ONE Cumulative time per female for all MCs For more information on BTPD MCs, please see Figs 16.2 through 16.4.
