Current Population Survey (CPS) Topical Supplement Files

The core questions on employment status and other basic demographic characteristics supply standard monthly labor force data for the week prior to the survey. The core is where comprehensive information is given on the employment status, occupation and industry of persons older than 14 or 15 years, weeks worked, hours per week worked, reason not working full-time, total income and income components, and residence. Topical supplements vary from month to month and concern school enrollment, job tenure, tobacco use, telephone availability, food stamp and school lunch benefits, multiple job holding and union membership, immunization, pension and retirement plan benefits, marital history and fertility, alimony and child support, education, voting and registration, veteran status, agricultural work, computer and internet use, and public participation in the arts.
