The dataset includes responses from 709 household surveys from the departments of Totonicapán and Chiquimula, Guatemala. Our research team obtained consent from the leaders of each community included in the household survey prior to contacting individual households. Prior to conducting household surveys, all 16 enumerators participated in an intensive 3–day training, during which we reviewed ethical research practices.
