Listed in National Center for Atmospheric Research

Constant-level "smart" balloons were used to track air masses during the ACE-1 multi-flight lagrangian missions by Steve Businger and Mark Geldmeier (U of Hawaii).

Description

These balloons were released from the R/V Discoverer and transmitted position and meteorological data to receiving equipment on the C-130 aircraft. This dataset consist of four balloon flights during the last two lagrangian missions.
