Scotia Arc GPS Project (SCARP) 1997-2002

Listed in NASA Earthdata CMR

The SCARP (Scotia Arc GPS Project) data set consists of daily raw and RINEX format GPS files from field campaign observations at sites in the Antarctic Peninsula and southern South America between the years 1997 and 2002.

Description

Most monuments in the SCARP network are stainless steel pins epoxied into bedrock, but some pre-existing monuments of other types were also measured. Most observations were recorded at a thirty second interval and spanned at least two complete UTC days.

Dual frequency GPS receivers and Dorne-Margolin style choke ring antennae were normally used for observations. The daily GPS files and metadata are available from the UNAVCO archive at facility.unavco.org/data/data.html under the "Campaigns" link, where the SCARP data are grouped according to year, for example, "SCARP 1998" and "SCARP 2002".
