Recycling reversed: Studies in the History of Polyphony in the northern Low Countries

Its deliverable is Eliane Fankhauser’s PhD dissertation titled “Recycling reversed: Studies in the History of Polyphony in the northern Low Countries.” The research project addressed fragments of polyphonic music kept in The Netherlands from around 1400 with a special consideration of a collection of fragments housed at Utrecht University (RISM sigla NL-Uu Hs. 6 E 37 (Cat. 1846), referred to as Uu 37 in the dissertation).

In contextualizing the fragments, archival research on the cultural milieu in Utrecht around 1400 was carried out.
