Georeferenced Addresses in Flood-Prone Areas by District in Germany, 2025

The dataset summarizes the number of authoritative georeferenced address data within each district or district-free city in Germany that is located within flood risk zones and flood hazard areas.
Description
Georeferenced address data is used as provided by the Federal Agency of Cartography and Geodesy (Bundesamt für Kartographie und Geodäsie) and has been combined with flood risk zones and flood hazard areas of the Federal Institute of Hydrology (Bundesanstalt für Gewässerkunde).
For privacy reasons, districts and district-free cities with values ranging from 1 to 9 are assigned the value -1. Data on flood-prone areas (both flood risk zones and fllod hazard areas) are differentiated between fluvial and sea flooding according to three probability scenarios (high probability, medium probability, low probability). Georeferenced addresses are cross-referenced with the flood zones and summarized by the number of affected points.

The dataset is provided as Geopackage containing a polygon dataset of district and district-free cities. A data table is also provided as comma separated values file (CSV). The district geometries are taken from the openly available administative boundary dataset VG250 of the Federal Agency of Cartography and Geodesy.
