Replication data for Fig 14.10, WTPDs, Males, Survivorship vs body mass at first juvenile emergences, 07 May 2026

Description

I created this file from file = WTPDs, Becca short version, 14 Jan 2020 This file has been checked TWO TIMES by JLH alone Cops = 0 = no evidence that male copulated that year (e.g., no PS, no DT, no observed cops, no control of harem and territory, died or disappeared before mating season) Cops = 1 = evidence from behavior or observed cops that male copulated at least once that year If I marked or observed a male early in the mating season and he then disappeared before the mating season, I scored him as a MALE WITH 0 COPULATIONS.

Some of these males might have moved to a new colony and copulated there, but that seems unlikely. Survivorship = 0 = WTPD male did NOT survive until next mating season Survivorship = 1 = WTPD male DID survive until next mating season Date = 19 March 2022 OLDFile name = WTPDs, Malewts vs survivorship, 19 March 2022 This file is IDENTICAL to file = WTPDs, malewts vs cop, 26 Jan 2020 The new name reflects the reason for this file The number above each circle in Fig 14.10 indicates the number of WTPD males weighed and then tracked for survivorship.

These data used for Figure 14.10 in Hoogland 2026. This file ready for longterm storage on 08 March 2025. The number above each circle in Fig 14.10 indicates the number of males weighed and then tracked for survivorship.

Dates = dates when WTPD male was captured and weighed I consider data from the same WTPD in different years to be independent. All data in this WTPD file come from the single study-colony at the Arapaho National Wildlife Refuge near Walden, Colorado Wt = weight = body mass All body masses in GRAMS. Adult body mass at first juvenile emergences in Junewt in some older files Body mass <=15 April = WTPD male body mass before, during, or just after mating season Body mass >=15 May = WTPD male body mass just before, during, or just after juveniles were first emerging from their natal nursery-burrows File name = Fig 14.10, WTPDs, Males, Survivorship vs body mass at first juvenile emergences, 07 May 2026
