Replication Data for: Fig 26.1, BGUW, Colony and ward densities, 31 July 2026

These colony densities of adults and yearlings are from May, when almost-weaned juveniles were emerging from their natal burrow-entrances. For this figure, I used one colony density per year for each colony-site My estimates of colony density are for adults and yearlings only--no information from weanlings. Litter size = litter size at first emergence of offspring from their natal nursery-burrow = number of weanlings.

Remember: These data are from MAY of each year for all four species These data used for Fig 26.1 in Hoogland 2026. This file ready for longterm storage on 29 April 2025. I considered data from the same colony in different years to be independent.

All BTPD data are from single Rankin Ridge Colony at Wind Cave National Park from 1975 through 1988 See above for three sources of GPD data All UPD data are from single Horse Corral Colony (HCC) at Bryce Canyon National Park Park from 1995 through 2005 All WTPD data are from single study-colony at Arapaho National Wildlife Refuge near Walden, Colorado, from 2006 through 2012 The means and standard errors come from information in Fig 11.2 of Hoogland 2026.

The P-value for interspecific differences is from the Kruskal-Wallis analysis of variance.
