Glacial and supraglacial lakes in western Dronning Maud Land

Data collection was made in austral summers 2004-2005 and 2010-2011, December-January. Physics data include lake profiling by drilling, ice samples, hydraulics, radiation balance and heat budget, and chemistry data includes hydrochemical sounding of water bodies and samples for laboratory analyses.

Three supraglacial lakes and six glacial lakes have been mapped; the glacial lakes were small and located at the ice sheet foot and at the top of nunataks. In 2010-2011 also plankton samples were taken for later laboratory analyses.
