Flora of the “Końskie Łąki” and “Zarosłe Łąki” Meadows, Tricity Landscape Park

The area of “Końskie Łąki” (Horse Meadows) is approximately 6 hectares, while “Zarosłe Łąki” (Overgrown Meadows) covers 4.1 hectares. These meadows are situated in the flat-bottomed, spring-fed section of the valley of the Źródło Marii stream (a right tributary of the Kacza River).

For over a hundred years, the meadows have been drained with small ditches, although some areas have retained wet (including spring-fed) patches with relatively natural vegetation. The research was conducted during the 2015 growing season. During fieldwork, a floristic inventory was carried out, including an assessment of the abundance of each species using a four-point scale: 1 – taxon occurred singly (1–10 individuals); 2 – taxon was fairly numerous (11–100 individuals); 3 – taxon was numerous (101–1,000 individuals); 4 – taxon occurred in mass numbers (>1,000 individuals).
