WASP, Kepler, and TESS photometric data of KIC 8712760

Listed in ScienceDB

This dataset focuses on the pulsating variable star KIC 8712760 (TIC 268609211).

Description

It includes light-curve data from Kepler, TESS, and WASP, as well as amplitude-tracking results derived from the light-curve analysis. The data were mainly processed with Python tools, including Lightkurve, NumPy, SciPy, Astropy Lomb-Scargle, Matplotlib, and Period04.

The Kepler and TESS data were retrieved and stitched using Lightkurve, followed by NaN removal, outlier rejection, and flattening. The TESS flux data were further converted into instrumental magnitudes. The WASP data were extracted from the original light-curve tables and detrended using median filtering.

The amplitude-tracking results were obtained by applying sinusoidal fitting to segmented light curves at the main frequency of approximately 16.331090 d⁻¹.The dataset consists of time-series photometric data for a single target and does not involve spatial grids or spatial resolution. The Kepler data are given in BKJD and cover approximately May 2009 to May 2013, with a typical cadence of about 29.4 minutes. The TESS data are given in BTJD and cover approximately July 2021 to September 2024, including both 600 s and 200 s cadences.

The WASP data are given in BJD and cover approximately June 2006 to August 2008. Due to observing seasons, gaps between TESS sectors, and ground-based observing conditions, there are observational gaps in the time series, but no NaN or Inf values were found in the submitted files. All data files are plain .txt text tables and can be read using Python, Excel, Origin, Period04, or a standard text editor. The files lk_mag_KIC_8712760.txt and lk_mag_KIC_8712760_pdcsap.txt each contain 64,796 Kepler records; TIC_268609211_exptime600_200.txt contains 55,707 combined TESS records; TIC_268609211_600_PERIOD04.txt contains 10,992 records with a 600 s cadence; TIC_268609211_200_PERIOD04.txt contains 44,719 records with a 200 s cadence; and WASP_BJD.txt contains 6,134 WASP records.

These light-curve files generally contain two columns, representing time and magnitude. The file amplitude_tracking_data xiuzheng.txt contains 34 records with three columns: BJD-2400000.0, Amplitude(mmag), and error(mmag). The uncertainties mainly arise from original photometric errors, instrumental systematics, ground-based observing conditions, and the subsequent flattening and fitting procedures.
