Arginase-1 dependent Insulin-like Growth Factor-1 from myofibroblasts and endothelial cells facilitates kidney tubular proliferation after ischemic injury
Listed in NCBI GEO
Following acute kidney injury, successful regeneration of tubular epithelium is essential to restore normal kidney function.
Description
We have previously reported that alternatively activated (Arg1+) macrophages in the outer medulla promote tubular proliferation following ischemic injury, however the specific growth factor(s) mediating this effect remained unidentified.
