Dataset of Metabolites and Potential Mechanisms of Chemotherapy-Induced Premature Ovarian Failure Based on Non-Targeted Metabolomics
Listed in ScienceDB
This dataset was established based on a cyclophosphamide (CTX)-induced premature ovarian failure (POF) mouse model.
Description
The current metabolic regulatory mechanisms underlying CTX-triggered POF remain poorly understood. This dataset aims to reveal the metabolic mechanism of CTX-induced ovarian injury and provide original experimental data for the mechanistic research and clinical translation of POF.
A total of eight specific pathogen-free (SPF) female C57BL/6 mice were randomly divided into the normal control group and the POF model group. Mice in the model group were intraperitoneally injected with CTX to establish the POF model, and successful model construction was verified by hematoxylin-eosin (HE) staining.Serum samples collected from mice were subjected to untargeted metabolomic detection using ultra-performance liquid chromatography coupled with high-resolution mass spectrometry (UPLC-HRMS).

Multiple statistical analyses and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGG) pathway enrichment analyses were performed for data mining and mechanistic exploration. A total of 41 differential metabolites associated with POF were identified and screened in the dataset, among which lipids and lipid analogs accounted for 54%. The results confirmed significant alterations in the serum metabolic profile of CTX-induced POF model mice.
Further analysis indicated that disorders of choline metabolism and glycerophospholipid metabolism serve as the core regulatory links in CTX-induced POF, and the synergistic dysregulation of multiple metabolic pathways is involved in the progression of POF.This dataset systematically contains raw serum metabolomic data, identified differential metabolites, and results of metabolic pathway enrichment analyses from normal mice and POF model mice, with reliable and reproducible data quality.
It provides fundamental experimental data and scientific evidence for further elucidating the pathogenesis of POF, screening early diagnostic metabolic biomarkers, and developing targeted metabolic intervention strategies for POF.
