<p>The APPLAUSE Data Release 3 contains metadata about photographic plates and data extracted from digitized plates.</p><p>The source catalogue contains 3.508 billion extracted sources.
Description
The majority of sources have their positions (right ascension and declination) calibrated with the help of the Tycho-2 and a crossmatch of (updated) UCAC4 and APASS catalogues. The database contains 2.065 billion sources with matched UCAC4 designations, 1.179 billion apass matches and 367 million sources with Tycho-2 designations.</p><p>The APPLAUSE DR3 database is organised in 18 tables. </p><p>Along with the data we publish the version of the pyplate software which was used to process the scanned material.</p>
