Foreign affairs: internally displaced persons lack effective protection

A report by the United States General Accounting Office (GAO) presented to the Chairman and Ranking Minority Member, Committee on Foreign Relations, U.S. Senate on internally displaced persons which sets out to assess: whether international organizations' efforts have adequately protected internally displaced persons and what impediments these agencies face; whether international organizations have met the food and other assistance needs of displaced populations; whether the U.S. government has a coordinated and effectively managed program to help protect and assist internally displaced persons.
