Checklist of Vascular Plants of the Important Plant Area “Tauzholy” (IPA-KZ-AM)

The site represents one of the few remaining fragments of low-mountain fruit forests and xeropetrophytic communities in the foothills of Almaty and supports a local population of the Kazakh endemic Atraphaxis muschketowii, as well as several endemic, subendemic, and nationally protected species (Prunus armeniaca, Tulipa ostrowskiana, Iris alberti, Euphorbia yaroslavii, Crocus alatavicus, Iris kolpakowskiana).

The dataset underpins conservation planning, IPA/KBA assessment, Red List evaluations, and biodiversity monitoring in peri-urban foothill landscapes. It integrates targeted field surveys (2023–2025) with citizen-science observations from iNaturalist (aggregated in GBIF), and published floristic sources.
