Research Data: Efficacy of Oral Pharmacotherapies for Abdominal Symptoms in CIC

The research system searched databases such as PubMed, Cochrane Central, Embase, ClinicalTrials.gov, and WHO ICTRP, and included 38 double-blind randomized controlled trials (with a total of 17342 participants) to compare the improvement effects of 11 oral interventions on abdominal symptoms.

Based on drug level ranking, the pharmacological mechanism of action was first decomposed into six independent components (ClC-2 chloride channel activation, GC-C receptor activation, 5-HT ₄ receptor activation, IBAT inhibition, osmotic laxatives, and irritant laxatives), quantifying the independent contributions of each component to the relief of abdominal pain and bloating. The dataset includes: (1) feature information tables included in the study, including trial design, sample size, population characteristics, intervention plans, and treatment courses; (2) The raw extracted data of abdominal symptom outcomes includes baseline values, variation values, and standard deviations of abdominal pain score, bloating score, and composite discomfort score, with covariance adjustment records of multi arm trials attached; (3) The design matrix of component network meta-analysis, which is the binary coding table of six pharmacological components corresponding to each intervention measure; (4) Evidence network structure data, including direct comparison, indirect comparison, and closed loop composition; (5) R analysis script and output results, based on netmeta package (v2.8-0) to achieve model fitting, sensitivity analysis, inconsistency testing, and CINeMA evidence quality evaluation for drug level NMA and component level CNMA; (6) A list of 16 excluded trials that met the inclusion criteria but did not report abdominal symptom data was used to evaluate selective reporting bias. All data is stored in machine-readable formats such as CSV, Excel, and R scripts, with a root directory README instruction file attached, detailing the variable definitions, data sources, and replication steps for each file.
