City Council Super Districts - Memphis

Super Districts are large geographic areas that each elect multiple council members to ensure leadership represents the whole city. How Memphis City Council Representation Works: The Memphis City Council has 13 members who are elected in two different ways: Seven single-member districts : Each of these districts elects one council member.

Only residents within that specific district vote for that seat. Two Super Districts: These are larger areas that each elect three council members, for a total of six seats. Super District 8 — elects 3 council members Super District 9 — elects 3 council members This structure combines neighborhood-level representation (through single-member districts) with broader city-wide perspectives (through Super Districts).
