Direction of Agricultural Management Policy

This research investigates current agricultural management policy in terms of possible solutions for problem solving and new opportunity development. Research method and process include the discussions of current agricultural operation management in Taiwan and the existing problems on resources related to agricultural operation.

The resources such as farm land, labor structure, capital inducement, farmer\'s life, rural infrastructure and environment protection are incorporated in the analysis of problems and pressures faced by future trade liberalization. The sample survey was also conducted to assess the satisfactory level of government policy on agricultural management. The conclusions may be listed as followings: (1) For farmland application, the release of farm land owned by farmers and the insistent of farm land for farming purpose only gains full supports from farmers; (2) For farm labors, the aging problem needs effective improvement; (3) For agricultural loans, the assistance on the capital loans and production equipment may be enhanced and the application process needs to be improved; (4) For farmer\'s life and rural infrastructure, the efforts to pursue same living standards between rural and city area are necessary; (5) For environment protection and agricultural production, the organic production and the use of equipment with environmentally protected concepts need encouragement; (6) For other aspects, government needs to provide all kinds of agricultural information and experience of agribusiness organization in Japan for the improvement of agricultural operation management in Taiwan.
