Comparison of conjunctival tissue after trabeculectomy with and without MMC

RNA-Seq analysis was conducted to evaluate the effects of mitomycin C (MMC) on the filtering bleb conjunctiva in trabeculectomy (TL).
Description
Comparative analysis between surgeries with and without MMC revealed significant changes in 2,790, 2,336, and 2,015 genes at 3 hours, 3 days, and 14 days post-surgery, respectively. Enrichment analysis showed that gene sets related to inflammatory responses were upregulated in the MMC group.
Additionally, an increase in expression of the p53 pathway, which is closely associated with cellular senescence, was also observed in the MMC group.
