The agency created these files to provide basic digital cartographic data for use by the agency and by researchers.
Description
This series contains data that are digital vector representations of cartographic information derived from the sectional maps of the "National Atlas of the United States of America." The files are in the "optional format" which is cast to the Albers Equal-Area conic projection. Categories of data include boundaries, hydrography, and transportation.
The files also have a fu ll range of attribute codes and are topologically structured. This data comprises government records extracted from the Archival Research Catalog (ARC). See the ARC catalog entry for this series for more information on this data and how to order it.
