Survey on the Vitality of Official-Language Minorities, 2006 [Canada]

The Survey on the Vitality of Official-Language Minorities seeks to obtain an overview of the current situation of Francophone and Anglophone minorities in areas such as the family, education, health, early childhood and language of use in public life, a partnership was established among a number of federal departments and agencies covered by the objectives of the Action Plan in order to fund the implementation of a post-censal survey.

This survey specifically focuses on French-speakers outside Quebec and English-speakers in Quebec. The survey data provides a deeper understanding of the current situation of individuals who belong to these groups, on subjects as varied as education in the minority language, access to different services in that language (e.g., health care), and language practices in daily activities both at home and outside the home.
