Effect of overepression of HK1 in hepatocellular carcinoma cells

Listed in NCBI GEO

Hexokinase (HK), accountable for the phosphorylation of glucose, catalyzes the initial step of glucose metabolism.

Description

The HK family encompasses four members (HK1-4) in mammals, and HK1 exhibits the highest affinity for glucose. We found that overexpression of HK1 in Huh7 cells not only promoted the glycolysis pathway but also increased the pathway of asparagine N-linked glycosylation.
