SomeMCs = 0 = 0 MCs for female during her estrus SomeMCs = 1 = >=1 MCs for female during her estrus Litter size at weaning = litter size when weanlings first appear aboveground = approximate litters size at weaning Yearlings = weanlings that survive for >=9 months after first emergence from natal nursery burrow Does female survive = does female survive until the next mating season File name = Fig 16.12, GPDs, MCs vs wean, 24 March 2025 This file contains data from all three GPD colonies: PEFO, RMC, and VCC GPD Redondo Meadow Colony (RMC, studied in 2013 through 2016) was at Valles Caldera National Preserve (VCNP).
GPD Visitor Center Colony (VCC, studied in 2017 and 2018) was also at VCNP. GPD colony at Petrified Forest National Park (PEFO) was studied from 1989 through 1995. These data used for Fig 16.12 in Hoogland 2026.

This file ready for longterm storage on 24 March 2025. I considered data from the same prairie dog in different years to be independent. MC = Mating Call Yearlings = number of weanlings that survived for >=9 months after first emergence Litter size = number of offspring that emerged from natal nursery-burrow = weanlings For Fig 16.12, I used two classes of GPD number of Mating Calls: 0 and >=1 For Fig 16.12, I used two classes of GPD litter size at first juvenile emergence: 0 (no weaning) and >=1.
For Fig 16.12, I do not use data for Yearlings or Does female survive? in this file. I used this file to compare for GPDs the PROBABILITY OF AT LEAST ONE MC (GPD number of MCs = 0 or >=1) vs GPD litter size 0 or GPD litter size >=1 File name = Fig 16.12, GPDs, MCs vs wean, 24 March 2025
