Kultur Tunas Pucuk Anggrek Endemik Terancam Punah Cymbidium Hartinahianum J.B. Comb & R.E Nas.

The rare endemic orchid C. hartinahianum was successfully rediscovered by Bogor Botanic Garden expedition team in 2004, after more than a decade of searching. Human activities are a significant threat to the remnant habitat which destruction could occur at any time.

To date the future of this orchid depends on successful axenic culture in the laboratory. Shoot tip culture of this orchid has been carried out in Bogor Botanic Garden using Murashige & Skoog (MS) and Knudson C (KC) basal medium supplemented with organic compound, 5 mgtl Benzyl Amino purine (BAP) and 3 mgtl ZA (Zeatin). New shoots were formed after 3 weeks, where overall optimum growth occur on KC compared to MS medium.
