Effective humanitarian and development interventions demand an accurate appreciation of a population's key social, economic, and political characteristics.
Description
However, some targets of such interventions – including migrants, refugees, street traders, and slum dwellers are often remain omitted from large-scale surveys, one of the most effective ways of gathering systematic information about such characteristics. This paper addresses the exclusion of survey methods in studying mobile and marginal populations.
