A dataset for estimation of fission products in a PWR using RPF

Listed in ScienceDB

The dataset accompanying this study contains all the simulation data required to reproduce the figures and results presented in the manuscript.

Description

All simulations were performed using MATLAB/Simulink R2021b based on the one-point kinetic reactor model described in Section 2 of the manuscript. The reactor model includes one group of delayed neutrons and incorporates reactivity feedback from fuel and coolant temperatures, as well as xenon and samarium concentration variations.

A feedback linearization controller was employed to regulate reactor power during the load-following transients. The dataset comprises the true and estimated concentration trajectories for iodine, xenon, samarium, and promethium under two distinct power variation scenarios. The first scenario represents moderate load-following transients with power level changes following the sequence 100%–70%–85%–70%–100%, and the second scenario involves more severe power variations following the sequence 100%–20%–70%–20%–100%.

The sampling interval was set to 0.1 seconds over a total simulation time of 100 hours, and 150 particles were used in all particle filter simulations. The dataset also includes the power variation profiles for both scenarios and the root mean square error values for all four estimators (EKF, PF, EPF, and RPF). By loading and processing these data files, all figures presented in the manuscript can be regenerated.

All data are stored in MATLAB (.mat) format and can be opened using MATLAB R2020b or later versions. No experimental data were used in this study; all results are based on numerical simulations of the validated PWR model. No data are missing, and the error metrics reported in Tables 2 and 3 of the manuscript summarize the estimation accuracy of each filter across all poison states and scenarios.
