This layer is a georeferenced raster image of the historic paper map entitled: Map of the State of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations.
Description
It was compiled and published by J.C. Thompson in 1887. Scale 1:95,000.
Source map and image missing bottom panels, including part of title; description based partly on published bibliography. The image inside the map neatline is georeferenced to the surface of the earth and fit to the Rhode Island State Plane Coordinate System (Feet) (FIPS 3800). All map collar and inset information is also available as part of the raster image, including any inset maps, profiles, statistical tables, directories, text, illustrations, or other information associated with the principal map.

Relief shown by hachures. Includes population statistics from the census of 1875 and 1885.
