Dataset corresponding to "Adaptive Hydrogenation of Alkynes Using CO as a Molecular Trigger to Selectively Produce Alkanes or Z-Alkenes"

The catalyst selectively produces either alkanes or Z-alkenes from alkynes by simply changing the reaction atmosphere. Under H2, the catalyst fully hydrogenates alkynes to alkanes, whereas introducing CO into the H2 atmosphere reversibly switches the selectivity to Z-alkenes by modulating CO adsorption on the palladium surface.

The study demonstrates that CO acts as a molecular trigger for reversible selectivity control in catalytic hydrogenation, enabling flexible product synthesis with a single catalyst. The dataset includes all supporting raw experimental data associated with the publication, including gas chromatography (GC), nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), and Brunauer–Emmett–Teller (BET) surface area measurements.
