The agency created this series as part of the effort to build a safety performance history of vessels, their owners, operators and facilities, thereby enhancing marine safety.
Description
In addition, these records supported operational decision - making in implementing and enforcing marine safety and environmental programs. This series consists of information from investigating officers at Marine Safety field units on commercial vessel incidents.
The records contain incident - specific information in cluding incident types, location and dates, identities of vessels, and platforms. Subjects covered in the series are casualties, ships and transportation. This data comprises government records extracted from the Archival Research Catalog (ARC).
