Figure 2. The Multi-Axis Constraint Model

Listed in Teesside University Research Data Repository

Figure 2, The Multi-Axis Constraint Model, is a standalone systems-architecture figure developed for The Tithe as Ecclesiastical Economic Restraint Doctrine.

Description

The figure presents the internal constraint structure of the Ecclesiastical Provision–Dependence Mechanism, showing how sacred provision remains ordered when six operative constraints work together under God as source: Authority Constraint, Resource Constraint, Humility Emergence, Pastoral Perception Constraint, Participatory Formation, and Wisdom Alignment.

These constraints produce Feedback Stability, which preserves ecclesiastical continuity across time. The figure is grounded first in Scripture. God is identified as the source of provision, authority, wisdom, capacity, and legitimacy (Psalm 24:1; Deuteronomy 8:18; Acts 17:25; James 1:17).

Sacred authority is delegated rather than autonomous and must remain accountable before God (John 15:4–5; 1 Peter 5:2–4). Provision is stewarded rather than possessed (Matthew 25:14–30; 1 Corinthians 4:2). Humility emerges where authority and provision remain consciously derivative (Deuteronomy 8:11–18; James 4:6).

Pastoral perception is restrained by Christ’s valuation of the widow’s offering and by the prohibition against partiality (Luke 21:1–4; James 2:1–9). Participation remains formative and heart-positioned rather than coercive (Romans 12:1; 2 Corinthians 9:7). Wisdom governs increase, timing, capacity, and purpose (Proverbs 2:6; James 1:5).

From a systems perspective, the figure models ecclesiastical stability as the coordinated interaction of interdependent constraints rather than the result of a single control point. This aligns with systems-dynamics concepts of feedback, interdependence, constraint regulation, and system drift (Forrester, 1961; Wiener, 1948; von Bertalanffy, 1968; Meadows, 2008). The model identifies predictable failure states if any constraint collapses: clerical entitlement, donor capture, pride, favoritism, transactional giving, prosperity distortion, or systemic drift.

The figure is intended for scholarly, theological, pastoral, institutional, educational, and public-reference use as a reproducible visual model of how sacred provision may sustain spiritual office while remaining restrained by dependence, stewardship, humility, impartial perception, formative participation, and wisdom.
