This dataset brings together harmonized cross-sectional and longitudinal survey data for Ghana to study changes in educational attainment, labour market outcomes, and intergenerational educational mobility during a period of rapid education expansion.
Description
The Ghana Education and Labour Series (GELS) harmonizes multiple rounds of the Ghana Living Standards Survey (GLSS), including information on education, parental education, demographic characteristics, and geographic location.
The project also uses four waves of the Ghana Socioeconomic Panel Survey (GSPS) to examine longitudinal education and labour market trajectories around the introduction of Ghana’s Free Senior High School policy.
