IAI-Science-ISP-2-085-Coastal Upwelling Along the Western Americas: Past, Present and Future

Variability in ocean-atmosphere circulation over the California and Peru/Humboldt currents has major repercussions on both climate over adjacent continents and the sustainable level of fisheries from these productive waters. This project set the stage for such reconstructions with a two-year program monitoring the composition of coastal water in collaboration with researchers at six institutions.
