The idiocerine leafhopper genus Tautocerus Anufriev is reviewed and a new species, Tautocerus lizizhongi Zhang sp. nov., is described and illustrated based on morphological characters, particularly the male genitalia, from Shaanxi Province, China. The specimens were collected from Populus (poplar). A key to species and an updated checklist of the genus are provided.
