Taken from the survey report: Details During the 1981 changeover period conduct such survey work as is necessary toward the construction of the new Casey station. After the changeover period survey/navigational support is to be provided for the glaciology program for which the main task is a traverse to be run east from the existing IAGP route at latitude 69 degrees south following the line of the 1980 traverse. 1) Autumn traverse: Re-measurement along the established IAGP route and establishment of outlying fuel stores for later use. 2) Winter traverse(s): Further glaciology work on the existing Law Dome net. 3) Spring/Summer traverse: Re-measurement along the 1980 traverse route set along the 69th parallel, with JMR fixes, strain measurements, core sampling and gravity readings.
