Dataset: Cinematic Beauty

This data set was generated in a qualitative interview study on the experience of beauty, using film stimuli.
Description
The study employs the method of micro-phenomenology to generate and analyze descriptive reports about lived experiences of participants. The data set contains the following: Instructions 1.
Pipeline description (.pdf). A general pipeline description of the study is provided in the document, covering instructions for participant selection, film clips (stimuli) selection, and protocols for conducting interviews, as well as the analysis procedures. 2. Read me files (.txt) containing descriptions of how to interpret the transcripts, analysis files, and a general info sheet.

Data 3. Video files of the film stimuli (.mp4) used in the study to provoke the target experience of beauty. 4. Interview transcripts (.pdf).
These files contain anonymized verbatim transcription of the interviews. A readme (.txt) explains the transcription conventions. 5. Bodily sensation maps and timelines (.pdf).
These are visual aids used by participants to track and support their verbal descriptions during the interview. A readme (.txt) explains the prompts for participants, and contains instructions for interpreting these visual data by researchers. Analysis 5.
Analysis files (.xls). These spreadsheet files contain the processed transcripts that are grouped into thematic categories. They also contain notes on the categorization criteria.
