N–P–K stoichiometry dataset of three aboveground organs of five Calligonum species in a common garden at Turpan (September 2021)

This dataset is based on field sampling and laboratory nutrient analyses conducted in September 2021 at the Turpan Desert Botanical Garden, Chinese Academy of Sciences (89°11′ E, 40°19′ N; elevation −105 to −76 m), covering nitrogen (N), phosphorus (P), and potassium (K) concentrations and stoichiometric characteristics of three aboveground organs of five Calligonum species under common-garden conditions.

Five species were sampled: C. caput-medusae, C. arborescens, C. rubicundum, C. klementzii, and C. junceum. For each species, six individuals of similar growth status were selected, and three branch types (assimilative branches, current-year branches, and mature branches) were collected. Samples were oven-dried at 105 °C for 30 min and then at 65 °C to constant weight; total N was determined by the Kjeldahl method, and P and K by wet digestion with perchloric acid, expressed in mg·g⁻¹ dry mass.
