Corrections Management Information System History Files (CORMIS)

When a prisoner was released from a brig, the agency moved the record from the current file to the history file. This series contains history records for each prisoner released from a Navy brig.

The history files include: prisoner name, Social Security Number, race, sex, date of birth, name and address of next of kin, charges filed, length of sentence, existence of a pre-trial agreement, appeals o f sentence, dates of incarceration, unit identification code at the time of the offense, and data related to prisoner conduct while incarcerated. This data comprises government records extracted from the Archival Research Catalog (ARC).
