Occurrence of understorey spiders in rainforest fragments and shade-coffee plantations of the Valparai Plateau and Anamalai Hills, Western Ghats, India (2005)

This dataset contains occurrence records of understorey spiders (Order Araneae) sampled in rainforest fragments and shade-coffee plantations of the Valparai Plateau and the Indira Gandhi Wildlife Sanctuary (now part of the Anamalai Tiger Reserve), Anamalai Hills, southern Western Ghats, Tamil Nadu, India, between January and May 2005. Spiders were sampled using visual searches along time-constrained belt transects. The dataset comprises 4,299 detection records representing 102 identified taxa across 21 spider families and eight functional groups, together with a single incidental insect record (Hemiptera: Pentatomidae).
