State panel for monitoring of infections by the zika virus and its complications: characterization and usage in Health Surveillance

The State of Pernambuco has emerged also in the integrated surveillance actions and health attention for those diseases as in their monitoring. That tool is effective in improving emergency management in public health.

The objective of this paper is to report the development of a monitoring state panel focused on those diseases. It aims at contributing to the improvement of interventions addressed to achieve similar results, since the monitoring of unprecedented cases promotes institutional learning.
