Description

This dataset contains the digitized treatments in Plazi based on the original journal article Bharti, Himender, Kaur, Pawanpreet, Bharti, Meenakshi (2019): Description of the Ant Larvae of Two Species of the Genus Myrmica Latreille, 1804 (Hymenoptera: Formicidae) from Indian Himalayas. Asian Myrmecology (e 011004) 11: 2-11, DOI: 10.20362/am.011004, URL: mendeley.com/catalogue/96224eda-fc21-31c3-9516-c283868b87e7/ ABSTRACT.

We provide detailed description of three larval instars of two ant species namely; Myrmica hecate Weber 1947 and Mymica rupestris Forel 1902. Myrmica rupestris larvae exhibit the “pogonomyrmecoid” body shape which is considered ancestral in the genus Myrmica, whereas M. hecate larvae exhibit the “pheidoloid” shape.
