Provincial Policy Statement - Affordable Average Rent

Listed in Ontario Open Government Data

Affordable rents are calculated based on household income for the second to sixth decile.

Description

Affordability is defined as rent levels that do not exceed 30% of the households' gross income. The purpose is to show the rent level that is affordable to households at various income levels.

Each decile represents 10% of households. The deciles are organized by income level where the first decile is the lowest 10% of households with the lowest income and the tenth decile is the top 10% of households with the highest income. This is calculated for each of the 47 Service Manager Areas.
