A dataset of coastal zone factor changes in Guangxi Beibu Gulf, China, during 1990-2022

Economic activities in the ocean may have a negative impact on the living environment of marine plants and animals. Environmental changes reflect the extent of human activities' utilization and destruction of coastal resources, as well as changes in marine ecology.

Therefore, providing data support for the sustainable development of the coastal zone, expanding the time range and scale of coastline extraction, is of great significance for coastal zone environmental monitoring and assessment. This study used a semi-automatic extraction method to construct three sets of 6-phase multi-factor change datasets of the coastal zone in Guangxi Province, China, from 1990 to 2022, including mangroves, aquaculture ponds, and coastlines, covering the years 1990, 2000, 2010, 2015, 2020, and 2022.
