Parental Age and Birth Registration Data in Mexico (1985-2025)

Values <code>1–32</code> correspond to Mexico's 32 states. Complete state definitions are provided in the included Python script.</li><li><code>RESIDENCE_STATE</code> – Numeric code indicating the mother's state or country of residence. Values <code>1–32</code> correspond to the states of Mexico, <code>33</code> to the United States, <code>34</code> to other Latin American countries, and <code>35</code> to other countries.

Complete geographic definitions are provided in the included Python script.</li><li><code>MOTHER_AGE</code> – Mother's age at the time of birth. Values range from <code>10</code> or younger to <code>50</code> or older. <code>99</code> indicates that the age was not specified.</li><li><code>FATHER_AGE</code> – Father's age at the time of birth. The coding range varies by registration year: <code>12</code> or younger to <code>98</code> or older for 1985–1991; <code>12</code> or younger to <code>55</code> or older for 1992–2008; and <code>12</code> or younger to <code>75</code> or older for 2009–2025. <code>99</code> indicates that the age was not specified.</li><li><code>LIVE_BIRTHS</code> – Number of live births, ranging from <code>1</code> to <code>25</code> or more. <code>99</code> indicates that the number was not specified.
