Economic Growth Files

The agency created these records to store projection data for overall economic growth, and projections for employment by occupation and industry.
Description
These projections were used for studying long-range economic and employment trends (employment forecasting and economic development), planning education and training programs, and developing career information. Reports based on the projection data were published in the "Monthly Labor Review".
This series consists of data files from six versions o f projection data. Each version is identified with a series number by the published year for the specific projection year. Data files for each of the six versions contain input-output files, files containing sectoring plans for the projections, files with employment data, and two versions, published year 1989 and 1993, contain files with labor force data.

The input-output data files contain the inputs of commodities to industries for production as well as sales to final demand, and domestic output on both a commodity and industry basis. Employment statistics data files contain economic growth sector, year, output in millions of dollars, total jobs, wage and salary, total worker hours, and average weekly hours. The labor force data files contain growth projections by race, age, and sex for civilian labor force populations, civilian labor force participation rates, and civilian noninstitutional populations.
